About the Doula
Danielle Johns Preston, CLD, is the owner and founder of Roots to Nest and a certified and experienced labor doula through CAPPA (Childbirth and Postpartum Professionals Association). In addition to her work attending births as a doula, she had 10 years of experience teaching childbirth education in the Bradley Method, has provided informational sessions for hospital nurses on unmedicated birth, spent a year working in client services at a freestanding birth center, has training in lactation support, and served as the Lead Educator and Marketing and Outreach Coordinator at Baby+Co. Birth Center, Wheat Ridge, before its closing.
As the proud mother to three daughters, Danielle (and her partner, Curt) found immense joy, bonding, and empowerment in the journey through her pregnancies and births. She now finds that same joy in working with new moms and families to create birth experiences that will empower and inspire them. She believes deeply that pregnant women, and their partners, deserve to begin their labors and head into parenting feeling safe, informed, nurtured, and supported.
Danielle grew up in Colorado and loves to cook, camp, hike, play games, and have new adventures with her family. In addition to her training in all things birth and baby, she holds a BA in Literature and Feminist Studies from Pacific University.
